Iwona Albrecht (Lawyer – Borden Ladner Gervais)
Iwona Albrecht is a lawyer in the Ottawa office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP where she specializes in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and securities. Her specialty is to act for both investors and issuers (both private and public) in corporate finance transactions accessing local and international capital markets (such as debt financing, private placements, dealer-brokered special warrant financings and investments by venture capital firms). Iwona was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2005 and graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, in 2004. She obtained a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Management, High Honours with majors in both Political Science and Law, from Carleton University in 1999. Iwona lives in Ottawa with her husband and two kids.
Don Anderson (V.P. Business Development – M.P. Lundy Construction)
Don has a proven record of success as a business leader at the regional, national, global levels. He is a leader of the change management revolution in business and has participated in the development and application of such significant business improvement processes as Re-engineering the Corporation, Values and Performance Management, Six Sigma and LEAN. His extensive experience includes but is not limited to: creating customer focused businesses, developing high performance organizations, developing corporate strategy, and effecting corporate cultural change and alignment. A dual U.S. and a Canadian citizen and resides in Ottawa. He is currently Vice President Business Development for M.P. Lundy Construction, where he leads the company's market development initiatives and assists in ensuring all of their customers’ needs are being met. Don is a board member of the Ottawa Region Chapter, Canadian Green Building Council and member of its Existing Buildings committee. He is also Chair of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee
Dirk Bouwer (Partner – Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP)
Dirk Bouwer is a Partner in the Business Law Group at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP, the largest independent full service law firm in the National Capital Region. Dirk obtained his law degree from McGill University and has been practising business law in Ottawa for 17 years, focusing primarily on mergers, acquisitions, corporate finance and commercial transactions. Dirk has successfully assisted many clients spanning various industry sectors to complete their business purchase and sale transactions, financing transactions (debt and equity) and corporate reorganizations. Dirk is also a Canadian Registered Trade-mark Agent and provides advice and assistance to his clients in regard to trade-marks, corporate and business names. An active and dynamic member of the business community, he is a Past President of the Kanata Chamber of Commerce (2003 - 2004). Born in Pretoria, South Africa and raised in New Brunswick, Dirk obtained his undergraduate degree (BA in English Literature) at St. Thomas University in Fredericton. Dianne King- (General Manager-AVW Telav)
Dianne King is the General Manager of the Ottawa/Gatineau Region for AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions. Dianne is responsible for the sustainable growth and market share in this region for the rental market. Dianne has a talented team of over 75 technical employees in the Ottawa Region who create and manage all corporate events, awards ceremonies, press conferences, web & video conferences, tradeshows and exhibits and technical coordination for all meetings and events. Malcolm Macaulay (Associate Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP)
Malcolm Macaulay is an Associate Partner in the Ottawa office of Deloitte & Touche LLP. He is a Chartered Accountant who practices in the Taxation Services area of the Private Client Services Group. Malcolm has over 20 years of public accounting experience with local and national firms and has been serving clients with Deloitte for over 13 years. He provides taxation and business advice to a diverse base of private and public clients in the manufacturing, wholesale/retail, real estate and technology sectors. A major focus for Malcolm is transaction planning which includes mergers, acquisitions and divestiture structuring. AJ Plant (Broker – Exit Realty Matrix)
A.J. Plant has been working in Ottawa Real Estate for over 6 years. During this time, the most important thing he has been doing is not selling houses, but talking effectively with people.
